Drew Farm Pick and Picnic this Weekend!

This coming weekend, the 26th and 27th, promises to be perfect for your fall apple picking outing.  The weather has finally turned and we are looking at sunshine and temperatures in the 60's. Drew Farm has a lot going on this weekend: picking, tractor rides, picnicking, and live music in the orchard (on Saturday). Hope you can come out and enjoy!

This weekend we will be picking McIntosh, Corland, Empire, and Macoun; all are at or close to their peak in crispness and flavor. For the picnicking side of your outing, Drew Farm welcomes "Chicken on the Road"! They will be serving up some of their famous chicken treats: chicken bites with your choice of dipping sauce, chicken cutlet subs and club sandwiches, and cranberry walnut chicken salad wrap.  They will be in our orchard picnic area on Saturday between 10:30-2.  You are welcome to use our picnic tables and enjoy your outing with family and friends in a beautiful orchard setting.

You are welcome to roast your own s'mores in our orchard side, apple wood fire. We provide the roasting sticks and a s'mores kit that will make 2 s'mores.  Our retail area offers a great supply of hardy mums of all colors and sizes, as well as pumpkins and gourds for your fall home decorating.  Apple cider donuts will be available on Saturday and Sunday (while they last!).  We carry ice cold fresh apple cider, Drew Farm root beer and plenty of water.   

Drew Farm weekend of September 19-20th SHOULD BE GREAT!

We are expecting a family-fun weekend at Drew Farm of picking and picnicking.  Apple picking will be great, featuring McIntosh, Cortland and Empire. The McIntosh are peak right now and the Cortland are nearing peak but perfect for your first apple pie of the season. It's still a bit early for Empire, but they are already very flavorful and ready for picking.  Our trees are full of apples, so there's plenty to chose from!

Enjoy our orchard-side picnic venue where you are free to relax and spend some quality time with family and friends. We are expecting guitar music by the Blue Minors in the picnic area to provide light entertainment for your picnic. We will also light up our fire pit this weekend so you can roast orchard-side s'mores.  Free trailer rides will take you to and from the orchard.  As always you are free to take your time, roam the orchard and enjoy the beauty of the fall season.  Well behaved, leashed dogs are welcome.

Our retail is stocked full of McIntosh, Cortland, and Empire apples, pumpkins, mums,  cold cider, cider donuts (while they last), Drew Farm root beer, and water. If you're looking for a beautiful spot to get outside and enjoy the fall, come to Drew Farm - you won't be disappointed.  We hope to see you!

Opening Day is September 5th!

We will be opening for the 2015 apple season on September 5th!

We have an EXCEPTIONAL crop this year and are excited to see you all come to enjoy a wonderful fall tradition of apple picking at Drew Farm.  Our orchard is beautifully situated on a hill the provides a great view of fall foliage. As always, you are welcome to roam around at your own pace.  We have picnic tables available for your outing or, if you prefer, you are can bring your favorite blanket and find a secluded spot for your picnic.

Our prices for pick your own are: $26 for a half bushel (~20 pounds); $15 for peck (~10 pounds) or 2 pecks for $26; and $8 for a half peck (~5 pounds).

Even though it is only the first of August, it is time to start thinking about your group event at Drew Farm!  If you are considering us as a venue for your outing, please call and make arrangements.  We are very flexible and would love to tailor your particular event to your needs. If you are just looking for a nice outing for a few friends and family, On weekend days, Drew Farm always offers free tractor rides to and from the orchard, fireside s'mores, picnic area, and special events. Our atmosphere is casual and you are free to roam the orchard and enjoy our spectacular fall scenery.  We hope you consider us for you apple picking event this fall. Beautiful Flowering Hangers for Mother's Day

We are fully stocked for Mother's Day with spectacular hangers: impatient, geraniums, fuchsia, million bells , new guinea impatients, and more! We also have a wide variety of potted plants for your window boxes and planters. If you can't decide, give your mom a Drew Farm Gift Certificate and she can come and browse our selection and choose the perfect plants for her.  We are open this weekend from 10 am to 5 pm.  We hope to see you-the weather is going to be perfect.

Spring has Sprung!

After an historic winter, we have started to get ready for the growing season at Drew Farm.  The trees are all pruned and the apple blossom buds are starting to swell.  We anticipate a beautiful display of apple blossoms beginning around Mother's Day (May 10th). We will be opening the greenhouse for the 2015 season on May 2nd. Please come to Drew Farm for all of your hanging and gardening plants.

THE GREAT PUMPKIN LIGHT - HALLOWEEN NIGHT

Looks like all systems are "go" for a fabulous 29th annual Drew Farm Pumpkin Light.  The weather looks great and the goblins have been busy all week carving. The event will begin at sunset.  We are expecting a big crowd this year so we ask you for your patience, as our parking is limited.  It is likely that the busiest time will be between 7 and 9, so if you can come after 9 you will have less traffic to deal with.  If it turns out that the parking is full, we ask that you just drive around the block and come back. Cars will be coming and going, so new parking spaces will open up constantly.

It should be a spectacular end to a fabulous fall season at Drew Farm.

IT'S ALMOST HALLOWEEN! TIME FOR THE DREW FARM PUMPKIN LIGHT!!!

T'was the week before Halloween, when all through the greenhouse, the goblins were carving, carving a .....??? You'll have to come and see! On Halloween night Drew Farm will be hosting its annual Pumpkin Light.   This event has become a tradition for many that began nearly 30 years ago. It is a fun and spooky walk through the orchard with hundreds of jack-o-lanterns peeking out through the apple trees at you. It's free.  It's outdoors. It's great family fun.  The Light begins at sunset.

Support our Pumpkin LIght this weekend by purchasing your pumpkin from us. We will be providing tractor rides to the pumpkin patch and picnic area, where you are free use our picnic tables and enjoy some outdoor air with friends and family.  The orchard-side fire will be lit, so you can enjoy roasting your own s'mores.  Our retail has plenty of apples available for purchase, as well as fresh cider donuts, cider (hot and cold), Drew Farm root beer and water. We hope you can come and enjoy part of your weekend with us! Open 10-5.

IT'S TIME FOR PUMPKINS!

Unfortunately, the Drew Farm apple picking season is over. All the apples have been picked.

This weekend our focus at Drew Farm will be on pumpkins - LOTS OF PUMPKINS! We have them in our pumpkin patch and we have them in our retail area for easy pickup.  When you purchase you pumpkin from us, you help support our Annual Pumpkin Light that occurs halloween night. This is a free, special event that we host each year in which hundreds of jack-o-lanterns are carved and spread through out the orchard in a walk that is out of this world and fun for the entire family.  It has become a family tradition for many.

The weather will be great this weekend to get outside for some quality time with friends and family. At Drew Farm you can enjoy a free tractor ride to the pumpkin patch or picnic area where you can bring your own picnic and enjoy the orchard-side fire and roast some s'mores. We have some picnic tables available or you can spread your favorite blanket out anywhere you wish. Our retail area is stocked full of pumpkins, apples, apple cider donuts, Drew Farm root beer, cider (hot and cold), and water.  Head out this weekend and enjoy our orchard-it is in full color and it's a beautiful setting for your gathering.  

Columbus Day Weekend

The Columbus Day weekend will be a great time to get out into the crisp fall air and enjoy a picnic at Drew Farm! This weekend we will feature extended, free tractor rides to and from our pumpkin patch, fireside roasted s’mores to enjoy with your orchard-side picnic, and on Sunday, the Blue Minor guitarists will join us again to provide some light music to enhance your visit. We are sorry to say that the apples have been picked but we have a plentiful supply ready for easy purchase in our retail area. Also available in our retail: fresh cider donuts (while they last), fresh hot and cold apple cider, Drew Farm root beer, and a colorful supply of mums to decorate your home.

Our orchard is perched on a hill that provides a great view of the fall foliage of the Merrimack Valley. Our picnic area is a beautiful and peaceful place to enjoy family and friends. Come on out with the whole family, including your well-behaved dog, and enjoy the beauty.  We are open each day from 10 am to 5 pm.

It's Pick and Pizza Weekend!

Drew Farm has a lot going on this weekend! First, we still have apple picking. We will be picking McIntosh, Macoun and Golden Delicious, primarily, but we still do have some Cortland on the trees.  All of the varieties will require some patience and a bit of browsing, as the season comes to a close. Our Pumpkin Patch is also full of pumpkins of all sizes and shapes.  We offer free tractor rides to and from the apple orchard and pumpkin patch. Our retail area will have plenty of picked apples, cider donuts (while they last), Drew Farm root beer, fresh apple cider and water.  Our picnic area is a peaceful place to relax and enjoy the company of your family and friends while roasting fire-side s'mores!  On Sunday, we welcome back VESTA Mobil Wood-Fired Pizza! They offer delicious hand-made, cooked to perfection pizza right next to our pumpkin patch and extended picnic area.   You'll love their pizzas!  As a special bonus on Sunday, we will also provide some live guitar music with which to enjoy your Drew Farm outing. Welcome to October!

Hard to believe it is October already but it is and Drew Farm is ready!  This will be a very exciting weekend, as we welcome back Vesta Mobil Pizza on Sunday!  They will be providing hungry apple pickers with delicious pizzas that are hand-made and cooked to perfection in a wood-fired oven. This was a great success last year and you will love it. We will also be providing light guitar music to accent your picnic.  Hope you will be able to join us for our fall Pick and Pizza event!

Pumpkins, Pumpkins, Pumpkins!

Drew Farm is the self-proclaimed pumpkin capital of Massachusetts! We have a HUGE supply of pumpkins of all sizes and shapes. You can browse through our clean and safe pumpkin patch or choose one from our selection displayed in our retail area. Either way, when you purchase your pumpkin from Drew Farm you contribute to our Annual Pumpkin Light that takes place on Halloween night. This is a very special free event that we have been hosting for nearly 30 years. Hundreds of pumpkins are carved into jack-o-lanterns of all level of skill and placed in the orchard for a walk that is out of this world.  Halloween falls on Friday night this year so we expect a great turnout - Hope you can come!

The Weekend Ahead

Fall is in full swing here at Drew Farm and we have a lot in store for you this weekend.  Apple picking will feature McIntosh, Cortland, Macoun, Empire and Golden Delicious.  Our pumpkin patch is plentiful with pumpkins of all sizes. You are welcome to take a tractor ride into and out from the orchard and pumpkin patch.  The orchard-side fire will be lit by noon Saturday and Sunday to enjoy your picnic by as well as roast your s'mores (we provide the supplies).  Our retail area is stocked full of packed apples, pumpkins and mums, if you don't have time to pick your own.  We do allow well-behaved, four legged family members into the orchard as long as they are leashed and you bring what you need to clean up after him/her.  The weather looks to be beautiful this weekend, the foliage is starting to peak out, and the Patriots don't play until Monday night - no excuses! Enjoy some late September sun with us.

Sunday at Drew Farm

The rain will be ending this morning with sun this afternoon. Try to get your chores done early and come out for a great afternoon of apple picking and picnicking at Drew Farm.  Today we will have fresh apple cider donuts, apple cider, Drew Farm root beer and s'mores this afternoon. We will also provide free tractor rides to and from the orchard.  The leaves are starting to turn so the orchard is beautiful.  Hope you can join us today! We are open from 10 am to 5 pm.

WELCOME SKIDMORE ALUMNI!  It is a perfect day for your Drew Farm apple picking outing! Our picnic area will be devoted to the Skidmore College alumni from 10-12 today but s'more wiill be available to all through out the day.  

Today we will be picking McIntosh, Cortland and Macoun - all are crisp, juicy and flavorful! Our pumpkin patch is open and we will have the tractor running all day to shuttle you in and out of the orchard.  Hope to see you!
